Job Purpose

Test Engineer will be part of an agile development team, to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. S/he will design and implement tests, carry out debugging, and define corrective actions. S/he will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.

Key Accountabilities

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and execute unit and integration testing activities including post release / post implementation testing.
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using testing tools
• Evaluate product code according to specifications.
• Identify, record, document (testing phase logs etc.) thoroughly and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet organizational needs.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
• Quality processes documentation and quality certifications

Required Experience

• Min 2+ years exp as Test Engineer / tester
• Experience and good understanding of Software development and development processes
• Hands on experience of
  • Writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Black box and white box testing
  • Automated testing tools (e.g. selenium)
  • Working in Agile development process
• Strong Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience of performance and / security testing will be a bonus
